Each term we hold a Brunch & Discuss forum for our school data protection representatives. The objective is to inform delegates of any regulatory changes and provide up-to-the-minute topical news. At this forum we discussed everything from a government department sharing postal addresses online of more than 1000 individuals named in the News Years Honours list to a working men’s club installing CCTV in toilets which sparked accusations of invading privacy. We also delved into the considerations when processing data for employment reasons. We took an amusing look at the problems when using certain passwords including the group watching a short film on the difficulties in setting up a password which brought a smile to people’s faces.

In order to be as COVID-secure as possible, brunch was served in individual boxes.
