Headteachers and School Business Leaders Spring Term Briefings

This term’s Headteacher and School Business Leaders briefings took place on the 12th and 13th February respectively.

Once again we had a fantastic turn out at both events and would like to thank all those who attended and contributed.
Both sessions provided an employment law update from our very own Tom Alexander, we also had a financial update on NPW from Iqbal Vaza, along with a governance and health & safety updates.

We were also really pleased to present our new partner, SupplyNow, to our School Business Leaders briefing.

The SupplyNow app creates a direct connection between schools and supply staff - or as SupplyNow like to call them, Supply Heroes. Upon registration, Supply Heroes set the job types they’re looking for and distances they’re prepared to travel. Schools can then create job alerts, which go directly to candidates who have matching requirements, and they either accept or decline - it’s really that simple!

You may notice, there is no mention of a recruiter. This is just one of the ways they’re able to cut down on costs, although they do have a fantastic Supply Support Team on hand if you need them.

SupplyNow do not take a commission and only charge a 13% fee (compared with 40% for a traditional teaching agency). They are committed to paying supply staff up to 20% more and saving schools as much as 20% on their budget spend!

SupplyNow are currently running an NPW schools special offer, to kick start our partnership. If you are an NPW member you can receive five fee-free days as long as you register and use the service within the next six months. Every school will also receive a free personal and face to face on-boarding and training meeting to ensure you get the best out of the service. In addition, you can add any existing supply staff to the system and receive a 50% reduction in fees.
