TEACHER RECRUITMENT

This service supports the recruitment of primary and secondary ECTs. We attend a number of initial teacher training recruitment fairs across London. The service includes the provision of a centralised pool for the recruitment of primary ECTs and an ECT Appropriate Body service to quality assure ECT induction.

The Teacher Recruitment team also works closely with governing boards to plan the recruitment process for the appointment of headteachers and deputy headteachers. Support includes advising governors about writing the advert and preparing the candidate pack through to attending shortlisting and advising the school in preparation for interviews.

ECT APPROPRIATE BODY SERVICE

NPW have been providing an ECT Appropriate Body service since 2012 and prior to that as part of The London Borough of Newham. On average we support over 200 ECTs across 80 schools/Sixth form/FE Colleges each year.

From 2021/22 we have remodelled our service to meet the requirements of the Statutory Induction Guidance for Early Career Teachers.

All new institutions receive a supportive quality assurance visit within the first 2 terms of NPW acting as their Appropriate Body. We are also able to sign post you to a relevant induction programme for ECTs.
